日本の相撲という伝統儀式が持つ「厳格さ」と「華やかさ」をテーマに制作しました。
粘土という自由度の高い素材を使い、力士の筋肉の躍動感や、化粧まわしの細かな 文様まで作り込んでいます。
額縁の中に一つの世界を閉じ込めるような感覚で、見る人が実際に両国国技館の熱気や 桜の香りを感じられるような作品を目指しました。
私の相撲愛が細部にまで宿っています。
Sumo: A World Captured in Clay
In this work, the rigid discipline of Sumo meets the expressive freedom of clay.
From the like ripples of a Rikishi’s physique to the delicate motifs of his “Kesho-Mawashi” ceremonial apron, every element is meticulously handcrafted.
It is more than a sculpture; it is a portal to the heart of Japan.
By framing this vibrant scene, I invite the viewer to experience the electric atmosphere and seasonal beauty of the sumo ring.
「魔除けのララバイ」
額縁の中に一つの「魔除けの世界」を創り上げました。
日本の神様に手を合わせる時の畏敬の念と、災いを退けるための「不気味さ」、そしてどこか愛嬌のある「可愛さ」を同時に 閉じ込めたオリジナルデザインのキャラクター達です。
昔から日本では、恐ろしい姿をした異形の存在が、より大きな災厄から人々を守ると 信じられてきました。
その「恐ろしさ」の中にある種の「親しみやすさ」を見出し、 粘土の柔らかな質感と極彩色の色彩で表現しています。
鳥居から睨みをきかせる大きな目は、邪気を払う強い意志の象徴。
少しおどろおどろしく でも手元に置いておきたくなるような、不思議なパワーを感じていただけたら嬉しいです！
緻密に作り込まれたキャラクター一人ひとりに役割があり、額縁全体が一つの結界のような役割を果たすよう、祈りを込めて制作しました。
Lullaby of Protection: A Talismanic World
Within this frame lies a sacred sanctuary.
Inspired by the Japanese tradition of "frightening figures" serving as protectors against evil, these original clay characters embody both awe and affection.
I’ve captured the duality of the supernatural—the chilling presence that wards off disaster, and a quirky, "creepy-cute" charm that draws you in.
With vivid colors and meticulous detail, the wide eyes peering from the “Torii” gate symbolize a fierce will to repel negativity.
This entire work acts as a spiritual barrier, crafted with a prayer for your protection.
「葛飾北齋」
葛飾北斎の『富嶽三十六景 神奈川沖浪裏』にインスパイアされ、粘土による半立体表現で 再構築しました。
私は神奈川の辻堂の住んでいることもありこの絵がとても大好きです。
湘南の海から見る富士山が大好きでこの作品はとても思い入れがあります。
本作では、二次元の絵画が持つ「動」のエネルギーを、三次元の彫刻的な質感で 捉え直すことを試みています。
粘土ならではの柔らかさを活かし、激しく波打つ波頭と、静かに佇む富士山の対比を強調。
さらに、額縁を越えて広がる波は、伝統が時代や空間を越えて人々に与え続ける「感動」 の波及を象徴しています。
Hokusai Reimagined: The View from Shonan
I have always held a profound love for Hokusai's iconic The Great Wave off Kanagawa.
For me, the sight of Mount Fuji from the Shonan coast is a constant source of inspiration.
This piece is my personal homage, reconstructing that two-dimension masterpiece in three-dimensional clay.
I strove to capture the dynamic energy of the crashing waves using the soft texture of modeling clay, contrasting it with the serene permanence of Mount Fuji.
Critically, the wave breaks beyond the frame, symbolizing how the powerful emotional impact of Japanese tradition continues to ripple across eras and cultures.
